GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Friends and coworkers are raising money to help a commercial tire technician from Steubenville who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash earlier this week while working along U.S. 250 near New Philadelphia.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:19 p.m. Aug. 12 on the eastbound side of U.S. 250. Troopers said a 2003 Peterbilt commercial vehicle was stopped on the south berm, with a 2011 Ford F-550 service truck parked ahead of it.

Travis Brown, 24, and truck driver Travis Wells, 28, of Bridgeport, were working on the Peterbilt’s left front tire when a 2005 Sterling L8500 truck crossed the white line and struck Brown. The truck then left the scene.
