Drivers in the east end of Glasgow are asked to 'avoid the area' after a young man was 'stabbed' in broad daylight.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 3.15pm this afternoon, August 15, and have since closed off Old Shettleston Road at Fernan Street and Kenmore Street.

Officers and ambulance crew responded to reports of an assault, which Glasgow Live can confirm was a stabbing. A 24-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment - his current condition is unknown.

Police remain in attendance.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 3.15pm on Friday, 15 August, 2025, officers were called to a report of an assault on Old Shettleston Road, Glasgow.
