A man has pleaded guilty after targeting a Cheshire Greggs and attacking a worker.

Vincent Foley, 43, was arrested after a string of offending in July of this year, including trying to steal the safe from a branch of the popular bakery.

On July 4, Foley got into the office area of the Greggs on Wilmslow Road in Handforth and assaulted a member of staff with a hammer.

The employee was able to flee the room, and alerted their colleagues who all evacuated the bakery.

Back inside, Foley tried to get into the branch's safe but couldn't open it and eventually fled empty handed.
