SAGLE — The American Red Cross of the Northwest Region is welcoming a handful of residents at its emergency shelter at Sagle Elementary in response to the growth of the Sunset Fire in southwest Bonner County.

The shelter is offering a warm meal, cots and volunteers to talk about the situation. Abby Walker, the communications manager for the American Red Cross Northwest Region, said that the shelter is there to provide immediate relief for anyone affected by the fire.

"It’s a place for anyone who needs a safe place to go,” Walker said. “For safety and emotional support, get a warm meal and make sure that those immediate needs are being taken care of in a disaster.”
