BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - PASSING STORMS TODAY: Off and on showers and t-storms are in the forecast for Friday afternoon. The rain and clouds should help limit the heat in most locations. It’s unlikely that the local area will meet Heat Advisory criteria today, but still take heat related precautions as the weather will remain quite muggy. One or two storms could be strong with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and an occasional heavy downpour.
HOT WEEKEND
Highs Saturday and Sunday will climb into the mid 90°s for most locations. We might see enough atmospheric mixing that feels like temperatures may stay in the low 100°s. Regardless, plan for heat and humidity and take heat related precautions if you have plans for extended outdoor activities. We’ll also be dodging scattered showers
