AURORA, Ill. — A woman is in custody on Friday after authorities say she was allegedly paid by a man to abduct his two biological children from a home in the Western suburbs and bring them to him in Mexico.

According to Aurora police, 47-year-old Cindy Sanchez, a Fort Worth, Texas, resident, has been charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of child abduction and two counts of unlawful restraint.

The charges were handed down following her arrest at Chicago's Midway International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

Police said an investigation into the alleged abduction began after Aurora police were notified about the possible kidnapping of an 11-year-old and a 13-year-old from a home in the 500 block of Rosewood Avenue.
