One lane of the M5 near Gloucester is currently closed as fire crews respond to a reported bush fire this evening (Friday, August 15).

Drivers face delays on the motorway between junction 11 and 12.

One person said: "M5 stopped just after Gloucester".

Another person said: "It was a bush fire".

Traffic cameras show a fire engine at the scene near the junction.

Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the incident at 6.16pm.

It said: "Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to fire services activity on M5 Southbound from J11A A417 (Gloucester / Cirencester) to J12 A430 (Quedgeley / Hardwicke)."

The extent of the fire is not known at this stage.
