Takeaway pizza chain Papa Johns has confirmed a number of branches across the East Midlands are temporarily closed - but says it is working to reopen them soon. On Friday (August 15) stores in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire appeared to be shut.

Eighteen branches across the region were not taking online orders and when called by Nottinghamshire Live via the numbers listed, all lines rang out or went directly to an automated voice message informing customers they were on a waiting list .

The American pizza chain has now confirmed branch closures across the East Midlands - but stresses these are only temporary.
