The roommate of the man accused of kidnapping two runaway girls, feeding them drugs and alcohol and sexually assaulting them was arrested only days after his alleged accomplice, despite denying any involvement initially, court records show.

Jerome Scott, 62, the first and only arrest announced July 4, and Gerald Brooks, 68, face multiple felonies related to the alleged hostage situation and sexual assault of the two girls, ages 13 and 17.

The pair appeared in custody in a 4th Judicial Courtroom on Thursday to waive their rights to a preliminary hearing. In addition, Brooks' defense counsel requested a lower bond amount.
