A North Carolina mother is facing charges for allegedly opening fire at a back-to-school event after her son got into an argument with another boy.

On Saturday (August 9), Cherez Davis , 34, was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and “going armed to the terror of people” in connection with the incident at the Back-to-School Health Fair at the C.W. Williams Community Health Center, per PEOPLE .

Over 100 people, including children, attended the event, which offered discounted physicals, immunizations, and free school supplies for students.
