TEAGUE, Texas — Two dogs received from Dallas Animal Services (DAS), which drew ire on social media alleging animal cruelty , have been voluntarily surrendered, evaluated and verified with no evidence of abuse, and are set to be placed with an out-of-state organization, according to Teague police.

The City of Teague told WFAA in a statement that the dogs' owner voluntarily surrendered both animals to Teague Animal Control, and a rescue volunteer assisted in transporting the dogs to DAS, the facility where they were originally received.

During this transfer, Teague’s Animal Control Officer confirmed there were no signs of abuse or neglect and that both dogs appeared to be in good health.
