South African champion Du Plessis is gearing up for his third title defense, but this time the usual heavy trolling from “Stillknocks” was noticeably absent. At one point, the Chicago crowd booed him so loudly he had to stop mid-sentence.

In contrast, the fans showered title challenger Chimaev with massive support. When Du Plessis was asked about defending his belt , Chimaev grabbed the mic and boldly declared, ”Africa is never going to see the belt again.”
