A Chilliwack ultra marathon runner set a new course record after winning a race that took her just under 32 hours to complete on the weekend.
Jenny Quilty placed first in the women's division of the Fat Dog 120 mile ultra marathon at Manning Park on Aug. 9 with a time of 31:59:32. The course was actually 126 miles long, which is just under 203 kilometres.
Starting at Cathedral Provincial Park, racers had to follow the course all the way through the mountains along trails into Manning Park, then to the finish line at Lightning Lake, explained fiancé Matt Bolam who calls it an "epic" race.
"Runners have 48 hours and various cut off times they must make as they travel along the course," Bolam said.
