The Yankees are bringing back infielder Andrew Velazquez on a minor league deal, according to his MLB.com profile page .
Velazquez was released from his minor league deal with the Yankees and tested the market for a couple of weeks before his return. He will re-join Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Velazquez spent six years in the major leagues with five different teams from 2018-2023, hitting 189/.244/.293 with 12 home runs and 40 RBI over 624 plate appearances.
This is Velazquez’s fourth contract with the Yankees. He spent time with the big-league club in 2021, appearing in 28 games to hit .224/.235/.358 with one home run and six RBI over 68 plate appearances.
