BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Gov. Brad Little has signed an executive order he is calling "The Idaho Act," continuing down the road of what he calls improving government efficiencies and reducing spending.
Little on Friday ordered “all state agencies to reduce their General Fund spending for fiscal year 2026 (the current fiscal year) by three percent."
The governor also asked state constitutional officers, officials of the legislative branch, and officers of the judicial branch to assess and evaluate their budgets for ways to reduce government spending.
The cut request does not impact K-12 public schools, as highlighted by the governor's office in an executive order and follow-up news release.
