Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. smacked down Friday notions from extreme right-wing ally and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer that he's running a secret campaign for president in 2028.

Loomer told The New York Times last month that Kennedy is “a very problematic person” who is “running a shadow presidential campaign” from within the Trump administration.

On Friday, Kennedy swung back.

"The swamp is in full panic mode. DC lobby shops are laboring fiercely to drive a wedge between President Trump and me, hoping to thwart our team from dismantling the status quo and advancing @POTUS’ Make America Healthy Again agenda. They’re pushing the flat-out lie that I’m running for president in 2028. Let me be clear: I am not running for president in 2028," he wrote on X.

Kennedy insisted he's loyal to Trump and the MAHA mission, and hit back at Loomer for telling Politico this week she felt concerned about the role of his deputy chief of staff Stefanie Spear at HHS. She warned that Spear is attempting to use her position to mount a 2028 presidential campaign for Kennedy.

"Their attacks on my staff, especially Stefanie Spear — a fierce, loyal warrior for MAHA who proudly serves in the Trump Administration and works every day to advance President Trump’s vision for a healthier, stronger America — are proof we’re over the target. We’ll keep moving forward, we’ll keep delivering wins, and no smear campaign will stop us," Kennedy added.
