A 17-year-old faces multiple charges after police say a teen assaulted nurses and police officers, pulled a fire alarm and threatened hospital staff during a violent outburst at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday morning.
St. Thomas police said they received an urgent call early Friday from the hospital’s emergency department after a teen “became violent toward medical staff and security.”

The teen, who was taken to hospital for medical care, began causing a disturbance upon arrival, pulled the fire alarm, threatened to harm hospital staff and assaulted nurses attempting to provide treatment, police said.
When officers arrived, the teen assaulted three officers and continued to threaten staff and first responders, police said.
