SPENCERVILLE – Kids in Spencerville will soon have a new way to cool off as a planned splash pad will be built next year.
The splash pad was approved in the 2025 Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal capital budget, and council voted on a lease agreement in a special meeting on Aug. 7.

Since the splash pad is being built on property owned by the Spencerville Agricultural Society, a lease was needed in order for the township to proceed.
“It’s a 30-year lease with two renewals attached,” said Edwardsburgh Cardinal Mayor Tory Deschamps. “We wanted a lease that would go with the lifespan of the equipment. Everyone involved in the negotiations was happy with the agreement, and the Agricultural Society was great during the whole process.”
