PHOENIX (AZFamily) — If you’ve been wanting to add a pup to your family, wait no more!

The Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) has met its capacity. With over 330 animals in its care, AAWL is looking to find forever homes for some of these pets.

Only on Saturday, Aug. 16, AAWL’s main shelter at 40th Street and Washington Street in Phoenix will host a $0 adoption event for all dogs and puppies!

With Friday being National Check Your Chip Day , AAWL officials also wanted to stress the importance of microchipping your pets. According to HomeAgain , over 10 million pets get lost in the U.S. each year. But microchipped pets are twice as likely to be reunited with their families versus pets who aren’t microchipped.
