Deputies arrested a woman after an alleged burglary in Durham on Monday was reported near Burdick Road.

A press release issued Friday by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was reportedly breaking into a home on Burdock Road before leaving property in a Toyota Camry before law enforcement showed up.

The Toyota was found by deputies at a property nearby where the suspect had entered another home, the release said.

Shirelle Payne, 35, from Chico was allegedly identified as the woman inside the home. Deputies say they also determined the Toyhota to have been stolen and found meth, pepper spray and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
