LINCOLN, Neb. (Huskers.com) - Former Nebraska women’s basketball player Jaz Shelley was named Australia NBL1 South Most Valuable Player on Friday.
The 5-9 guard from Moe, Australia, has led Geelong United to an unbeaten season through 24 games, ranking 15th in the league in scoring (20.1 ppg) and seventh in the league in assists (6.2 apg) while leading NBL1 South in steals (3.54 spg). She also ranked fourth in the league in three-pointers made per game (3.25), while adding 7.3 rebounds per contest from her guard position over 24 games.
Shelley’s season-long performance has fueled Geelong United to tomorrow’s NBL1 South Championship Game against the Knox Raiders.
