SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A future treatment facility in Sioux City is one step closer to becoming a reality.

Agape Community Services will be a long-term residential therapeutic program for men, located on 28th Street in Sioux City near the new Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center.

Earlier this month, Agape Community Services received a $2 million check from Iowa’s Health and Human Services Department, making it one step closer to starting a cognitive and faith-based treatment center.

According to the state’s agreement, this money from the state is from Iowa’s share of the National Opioid Settlement funds.

“With the check, we currently have $3.3 million in the bank, so that’s exciting,” said Executive Director Rachelle Rawson.
