ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Erin has become the first hurricane of the Atlantic season.
Latest information
Erin is about 460 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands with 75 mph winds.
Forecast track
The center of Erin will track just north of the Caribbean over the weekend as a major hurricane.
Erin will turn toward the U.S. East Coast early next week, but is ultimately expected to turn away from the coast with no U.S. landfall anticipated.

Erin will not have a direct impact on north Georgia’s weather.
