ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - I-75 S was shut down for hours on Friday morning after a chain-reaction crash, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

All lanes were closed near Tara Boulevard in Clayton County at around 3:20 a.m. and didn’t open back up until a little after 7 a.m.

According to GDOT officials, a tractor-trailer hit an abandoned vehicle, kickstarting an eight-car pileup. Clayton County police said two vehicles were engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene, but everyone escaped with nothing more than minor injuries.

A driver was arrested for “charges contributing to the accident,” according to police. The driver has not been identified, and their exact charges are unknown.
