SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Department of Corrections is looking for three teen boys who escaped from Long Creek Youth Development Center Friday around 12:37 p.m., according to a news release.

The department's Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team is working with federal, state, and local authorities, including U.S. Marshals and Maine State Police, to arrest two 17-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy.

The department has learned the method on how the teens have escaped and has taken immediate steps to secure the youth center. It will also take action to prevent future incidents, officials said.

Officials are advising anyone with information on the boys or has seen them to immediately call 911 and avoid approaching or engaging with them.
