CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) — A stolen headstone found in a truck has been traced back to a pioneer family’s long-lost child, thanks to the combined efforts of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, local residents and researchers at the Girard Public Library.

On Monday, August 11, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of an old headstone that was found in a stolen truck in the county. Lieutenant Beckham said the department was looking for any information on where the headstone belongs so it could be returned to where it belongs.
