Voters in the district prepare to choose a new representative following the passing of Councilwoman Gwen Henderson.

TAMPA, Fla. – A crowded field of 14 candidates has officially qualified to run for the vacant Tampa City Council District 5 seat. The qualifying period for the special municipal election ended at 5 p.m. today, setting the stage for a race that will fill the seat left open by the death of Councilwoman Gwen Henderson.

Thirteen of the candidates will appear on the ballot, while one, Jose N. Vazquez Figueroa , is running as a write-in. The full list of qualified candidates and their campaign finance details are as follows:
