Border Czar Clarifies Stance on “Sanctuary” Policies, Citing Crime Crackdown

The Trump administration is not asking Washington, D.C., police to directly enforce immigration laws, but local officers must cooperate with federal authorities when encountering individuals involved in criminal activity, said Tom Homan, the administration’s border czar.

Homan’s comments on Friday followed a move by Attorney General Pam Bondi to roll back the District’s “sanctuary” policies, which block local police from cooperating with immigration enforcement.
