WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A 25-year-old man was found guilty Thursday in the attack and robbery of his former employer, according to the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.
Stephon Martin, of Washington, D.C., was convicted of robbery while armed, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with significant bodily injury while armed, and felony destruction of property.
According to court documents, in October 2024, Martin was working as a cashier at a tobacco store in Northwest, but was eventually laid off due to budget constraints.
When confronted with the news, Martin reacted with "extreme violence" and began to attack his boss. During the attack, court documents said Martin took cash from his boss and left the store for 30 minutes before re-entering us
