LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after he was struck while riding a bicycle by a hit-and-run driver Monday evening in east Louisville.

At about 9:45 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist that was struck near the intersection of Chamberlain Lane and Chamberlain Court, according to an LMPD news release.

Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling on Chamberlain Lane when it entered the intersection near Chamberlain Court and struck a man who was on a bicycle.

The impact of the crash caused the bicyclist to be knocked off, according to LMPD officials.

The unknown driver failed to stop their vehicle and render aid to the victim after striking the bicyclist, and continued in an unknown direction, authorities say.
