HEBBRONVILLE, Tex. (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents say they arrested seven people after a truck tried to speed away from them on Highway 359 near Hebbronville.

According to Border Patrol, agents from the Hebbronville and Freer stations tried to stop a white Ford pickup that refused to pull over. Tire spikes were used to stop the vehicle.

Officials said seven people, including the driver, got out and tried to run but were caught quickly.

The driver, identified as a U.S. citizen and admitted member of the Tango Blast street and prison gang, faces charges of human smuggling.

Six passengers, who agents said were undocumented immigrants, were arrested and will face charges of illegal entry.
