EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Two men were arrested early Friday morning after allegedly breaking into a longtime Evansville bowling alley and attempting to steal money from an ATM.

Evansville Police Department officers were dispatched around 2 a.m. to Franklin Lanes in the 1800 block of West Franklin Street after a commercial burglary alarm was triggered. Upon arrival, officers found a rear gate had been pried open, likely with a tool.

The business owner arrived on scene and provided officers with a key to access the building. Inside, officers located and arrested two suspects without incident.

“Officers were given a key by a key holder to allow access into the business and took the subjects into custody without any incidents,” said Sgt. Anthony Aussieker of the Evansville Police Departmen
