ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – As a proactive approach to prevent gun violence, Albuquerque Public Schools will begin enforcing a clear bag policy for their sporting events. This policy will go into effect the week of August 17, and will apply to bags of all sizes for spectators, not players. "We're taking a proactive approach on safety for our community," Adrian Ortega said. "Unfortunately, we've had a couple events we're not proud of with weapons on campus and things of that nature. So we feel like if we can get ahead of it and have preventative measures to prevent terrible things from happening, this is a very good first step."
