(FOX40.COM) — The San Joaquin County District Attorney's office announced a suspect was arrested on Wednesday for possessing over a million lethal doses of fentanyl. • Video Above: How deadly is fentanyl?

Following a traffic stop, over one kilogram of powdered fentanyl was found in a man's car, according to the district attorney's office. A lethal dose is just 2 milligrams, making this amount of fentanyl equivalent to more than one million lethal doses.

“One kilogram of fentanyl has the potential to take more than a million lives," District Attorney Ron Freitas said.

The suspect was arraigned at the San Joaquin County Superior Court with bail set at $140,000 the district attorney's office said. He is scheduled for further arraignment at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 21.
