OROVILLE, Calif. - A fallen tree is currently obstructing the main channel of the Feather River at Cottonwood Riffle near the Feather River Fish Hatchery.
The California Department of Water Resources has issued a warning to anglers and those enjoying water activities in the area.
People launching near the green Table Mountain Bridge are advised to proceed with caution.
Warning signs will be installed in the water to inform river users of the upcoming hazard. Despite the obstruction, water users can still navigate downstream on the river's east side, closer to downtown Oroville.
Although the California Department of Water Resources does not own the Feather River channel, it has informed local authorities about the hazard created by the fallen tree.
