PLUMAS COUNTY, Calif. - Caltrans crews continue their work on the Beckwourth Capital Preventive Maintenance paving project.

Officials say the paving project is to improve the ride quality on Highway 70 in Plumas County.

According to Caltrans, the project involves overlaying 24 miles of highway with Hot Mix Asphalt and includes additional upgrades like guardrails, paving unpaved pullout areas, and replacing or upgrading 19 culverts.

Starting Monday, August 18, at 7 a.m., 24-hour one-way traffic control will be in effect between Beckwourth and Vinton on Highway 70.

The traffic control measures will continue until Monday, August 25, at 7 p.m. Drivers should expect delays of up to six minutes when traveling through the work area.
