TERRELL, Texas — The left lane of eastbound Interstate 20 has reopened near Terrell after an 18-wheeler tractor caught fire.

According to the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters responded just before 6 p.m. to eastbound I-20 west of Hiram Road and quickly began attacking the flames that were spreading into the trailer of the 18-wheeler. The firefighters then closed eastbound lanes of I-20 in the area.

Several minutes later, a box truck pulling a trailer hit the rear of an 18-wheeler as it slowed for the vehicle closure. One person in the box truck was taken to a Dallas-area hospital for injuries to their face.
