Injured Tulane quarterback Brendan Sullivan will not need surgery, but he also might not be ready for the Aug. 30 season opener against Northwestern.
Coach Jon Sumrall said Friday morning that Sullivan had a bone bruise and a “touch of an ankle sprain,” dodging a more serious issue after getting hurt while being tackled in a goal-line drill on Thursday at the Saints' indoor practice facility. He definitely will miss Saturday’s scrimmage, but the timetable for his return will depend on how quickly he heals.
