Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a North Portland party supply business known for its colorful piñatas on Friday.

Firefighters responded to Boom Boom’s Balloons at noon and found flames coming from the front door at 2739 N. Lombard St. Several businesses are adjacent to Boom Boom’s, but the first crews contained the fire to the party store, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.

A photo the Fire Bureau shared online showed the business, located in the Kenton neighborhood, was heavily damaged and charred. Neighboring businesses will only have to deal with smoke damage. No one was injured, the Fire Bureau said.
