SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - On Friday morning, Springfield Police found a dog inside of a bag near a business on Boston Road.

The dog was immediately taken to the shelter, but his injuries were so significant, he had to be put down earlier this evening.

TJO says they have been in contact with the dogs family and are currently investigating what lead to these injuries.
