CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cardinal Blase Cupich is reflecting on his time in the priesthood and his rise from bishop, to cardinal, to power player at the Vatican during the election of Pope Leo XIV.
Saturday marks 50 years since Cupich became a priest.

He's celebrating his Golden Jubilee.
He was the first U.S. bishop to be named a cardinal by Pope Francis.
Cupich was seen as an integral voice in the conclave that elected the first American pope, born in Chicago.
Cupich famously does not like to talk about himself.
"I'm just as enthusiastic as I was the day I was ordained," he said.
