CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cuyahoga County Democratic Party will reconsider its endorsement of embattled Cleveland City Councilman Joe Jones, in light of a new investigation that found he threatened to kill a longtime council staffer.
Party Chair David Brock announced Friday that the Cleveland Ward 1 Executive Committee will reconvene via Zoom on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m., with the meeting livestreamed on YouTube for public viewing.
Brock said members did not have access to the investigative report — made public Thursday — when they voted earlier this month to endorse Jones over challenger State Rep. Juanita Brent.
