TONTITOWN, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — The commonly criticized Eco Vista Landfill run by Waste Management in Tontitown had a large fire Aug. 14 around 3:35 p.m., upsetting residents once again.

According to a statement from Waste Management, the fire took around two hours to contain and nearly five hours to extinguish.

The cause of the fire is unknown. However, in the same statement, it was labeled a Class IV fire, meaning the fire consisted of "construction and demolition" materials.

Waste Management also said, "customers should review the list of acceptable materials before disposing any solid wastes at landfills."
