CENTRAL ILLINOIS ( 25News Now ) - Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI) and Ameren Illinois have received approval from the Illinois Commerce Commission to start building new transmission lines.
These lines are similar to highways that carry energy over a long distance.

The utility also plans to replace old equipment.
