Shanice Shantay’s acting career began almost by accident.
“My first ever job came from me leaving college and just doing an audition for the experience, and I booked it,” Shantay recalled. “That kind of showed me, okay, this is where you're meant to be.”
That first role launched a career that has spanned musicals and television. Most recently, Shantay landed a supporting role as “Johnnie Mae” in the new Netflix film The Six Triple Eight .
“I wasn't only playing a character,” she said. “I was telling a story of a real group of women who had a big impact on our country and who deserve to be recognized and appreciated.”
