AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Thurmond and Silver Bluff high schools both hosted jamborees as the South Carolina High School League is preparing for the start of football season.

While Georgia high school began this week, South Carolina’s does not start until next.

The jamboree played host to five mini games, with seven teams from around the area attending, except Swansea.

After an hour delay, games finally kicked off at 7 p.m.

First, South Aiken faced Swansea for two 12-minute periods, then Aiken played Wagner-Sally with the same setup. A last-minute touchdown gave Swansea the win.

Then, Silver Bluff, Ridge Spring-Monetta and Blackville Hilda all took turns facing each other across three games of one 12-minute period each.
