MULGA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Mulga man is speaking out after his SNAP benefits were stolen two months in a row, leaving him struggling to put food on the table and warning others to take precautions.

For Steve Eaton, $200 a month in food stamps goes a long way - until it doesn’t.

“I was at the register and then there was no funds,” Eaton said.

In July, his benefits were stolen and used in New York. He followed the Alabama Department of Human Resources’ instructions, getting a new card and PIN. But this month, it happened again.

Now, Eaton is finding food however he can.

“Thank you Jesus some of these little food bank places have helped,” he said.
