STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— There were 11 reported vehicle thefts across Staten Island during the week of August 4 through 10, according to NYPD data.
Despite the recent incidents, the number of automobile thefts reported in the borough this year has continued to decline. Car thefts reported through August 10 dropped 38% (133 vs. 215) compared to the same period in 2024, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures.
The database indicates that 10 cars and one motorcycle were stolen during this period — the most recent week for which statistics are available.
