(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- We start the weekend off warm and sunny as 90s and summer-like storms return to the Carolinas.

Look for 70s and patchy fog to get your day started as winds stay light out of the north northwest. We can see a shift in winds out of the east northeast as we get into the peak heating hours of the day.

Highs will make a run for the low 90s today under partly cloudy skies. Look for an isolated pop-up storm or two that should be relatively short-lived and have minimal impacts on the area. We’ll dry out again overnight as lows dip into the low 70s and rain chances take a break heading into Sunday.

Sunday will finish off the weekend in the low 90s as sunshine dominates heading into early next week. Low to mid-90s will linger Monday and Tuesday as moisture ramps back up head
