The Humboldt County Extension Office will host a Fertilizer and Finance workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at their location, 727 Sumner Ave, Humboldt.
The workshop will be led by Eric Weuve, farm business management specialist, and Angie Rieck-Hinz, extension field agronomist, both with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
“The goal of this workshop is to allocate fertilizer dollars where you need to maximize crop production,” said Rieck-Hinz. “We will focus on phosphorus, potassium and lime inputs, and producers are encouraged to bring their most recent soil tests to use in this workshop.”
According to Rieck-Hinz, fertilizer prices are up, partially due to tariffs, and crop prices are lower. This workshop will take a broad look at the cost of fertilizer
